Corona's life of self-restraint began in March 2020. After enduring it for over two years, in January of 2022, we finally had our first Tea Gathering called Hatsugama. Of course, we took the utmost care, and the tea ceremony was based on a new style of tea ceremony devised by the 13th Iemoto of the Urasenke School, Ennosai, over 100 years ago. The best part of the tea ceremony is to have a cup of tea with a group of guests, but in this case, each guest has a cup of thick tea (Koicha). The Teishu of the tea ceremony worked on this new tea ceremony until the day before the Hatsugama event. The koicha tea was "Shogyoku" and the sweets were "Hanabira-mochi", which is only served only special Hatsugama once a year. We moved to Ryurei-seki. Misono tana and Washindana table team. They enjoyed Tea, Sweets and a lot of conversation.
Afterwards, we had our annual Hatsugama luncheon in the dining room. Kanpai!
Please take a look at the scene.
